Bank of East Asia Passbook Savings Account:

* A passbook-based savings account
* Account holders must be at least 12 years old.
* Attractive interest rates are offered.
* Interest is calculated on the daily closing balance and credited to the account at the end of the month.
* A minimum initial deposit of S$1,000 is required.
* A S$30 minimum balance charge will be levied if the monthly average daily balance is less than S$5,000.
* A handling charge of S$10 (or its equivalent) will be deducted from the proceeds of inward remittance.
